Planning / Inventory Control

At Packaging Unlimited we understand that the delivery date rarely changes despite unexpected issues that creep into the timeline, so we provide production planning services that complement your materials processes. In addition to tracking and expediting inbound materials, our Planners work with Production to schedule efficient production runs to meet your delivery commitments.

The Open architecture of our industry-leading production/inventory control system, offers a variety of methods for information transmission for planning, production and shipping data including EDI, web portal, FTP/SFTP, and VPN. This allows us to utilize contract manufacturing best practices for multiple planning procedures, including MRP, Min/Max, Historical Forecasting, Master Scheduling, and Material Availability Scheduling.

We also have extensive experience working to integrate our customers’ systems including SAP, JDE, WOI, and other proprietary systems to track product movements, report receipts, production, shipments, receive POs and submit ASNs.

To ensure efficient and effective communication of day-to-day operations our Planners use value stream communication talking directly to your planners, expediters, transportation specialists or other supply chain personnel.

The importance of inventory control is a critical tenet of the Packaging Unlimited operation. In addition to our customized cycle-count program, all of our processes are designed to enhance the control of your most valuable asset in our facility—inventory. We provide inventory reconciliations and regular feedback on the status of your inventory including slow and obsolete inventory to assist you in cost-effective resource management.
